Kyoto International School to become a full high school
A new chapter is beginning for Kyoto International School, as we announce plans to open a full high school, teaching students through to the age of 18. KIS is an International Baccalaureate World School, with students from Kindergarten to Grade 10. From 2025, we will add Grade 11, followed by Grade 12 in 2026.
We will continue to offer the highest standards of academic and teaching excellence, enabling students to choose from a wide range of high school subject options in sciences, math, languages, arts and humanities. With qualifications from KIS, our students will be equipped to enter universities anywhere in the world.
Extensive plans are also underway to expand and upgrade our facilities and equipment across the entire school, to ensure outstanding IB learning experiences for students of all ages.

Frequently Asked Questions
Regular classes are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday have an early end time at 2:30 pm. After School Activities (ASA) are also available.
